The founder and president of Pawtucket-based Access Ambulance Service, Gary Reis leads a company that is licensed to operate in the states of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Gary Reis’ service features a state-of-the-art communications center to ensure that all calls will be answered with uninterrupted reliability.

The communications center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Using multiple carriers, the facility features a PBX phone system connected to a block of 100 phone lines. This setup ensures that all calls will be answered with no busy signal.

A cutting-edge Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system designed to operate in a dynamic environment assists in dispatching and monitoring the company’s medical transportation assets. Its ability to record the various associated activities enables measurement of response performance, resulting in better planning and deployment. Redundancy measures include Uninterrupted Power Supply, mirrored computer servers, and a natural gas-powered generator.

The center is staffed by call-takers, dispatchers, and communication supervisors. All the personnel have undergone the necessary specialized training that enables them to competently address the needs of clients.
